Basic Life Support (BLS) is a set of emergency procedures including CPR and other techniques designed to maintain circulation and breathing in a person experiencing cardiac arrest or respiratory failure until professional medical help arrives.

2. Can recognize cardiac arrest and initiate emergency response.

3. Demonstrates knowledge of CPR steps including chest compressions and rescue breaths.
