Debugging is the systematic process of identifying, analyzing, and resolving defects or issues in software or systems to ensure proper functionality.
Expertise Level
Level 1
Basic
1. Can identify common syntax errors and simple bugs.
2. Understands basic debugging tools and techniques.
3. Can reproduce issues consistently to aid troubleshooting.
Level 2
Intermediate
1. Can analyze and isolate root causes of moderate software issues.
2. Uses debugging tools effectively to track complex errors.
3. Applies logical reasoning to understand system behavior during faults.
Level 3
Advanced
1. Can debug complex, multi-threaded or distributed systems.
2. Implements advanced debugging strategies such as profiling and performance tuning.
3. Leads debugging efforts and mentors others in best practices.
