Functional Testing is the process of verifying that each software function operates in accordance with the required specifications and business requirements.
Expertise Level
Level 1
Basic
1. Understands the basic concepts and purpose of functional testing.
2. Can execute simple test cases based on clear requirements.
3. Able to identify obvious functional defects.
Level 2
Intermediate
1. Designs and executes detailed test cases covering various functional scenarios.
2. Analyzes requirements to identify test conditions and edge cases.
3. Reports defects clearly and suggests possible causes.
Level 3
Advanced
1. Leads functional testing efforts and develops comprehensive test strategies.
2. Integrates functional testing with automation and continuous integration processes.
