Pediatric CPR is the emergency procedure performed to restore breathing and circulation in infants and children who have experienced cardiac or respiratory arrest.
Expertise Level
Level 1
Basic
1. Recognizes signs of cardiac or respiratory arrest in infants and children.
2. Knows the correct hand placement and compression technique for pediatric CPR.
3. Can perform basic rescue breaths and chest compressions on infants and children.
Level 2
Intermediate
1. Performs effective pediatric CPR including coordinated compressions and breaths.
2. Understands the differences between adult and pediatric resuscitation protocols.
3. Can use a bag-valve mask to provide ventilation for pediatric patients.
Level 3
Advanced
1. Can lead a pediatric resuscitation team effectively during emergencies.
2. Applies advanced airway management and medication protocols in pediatric CPR.
3. Able to assess and adjust techniques based on patient response and clinical condition.
