The process of defining the architecture, components, modules, interfaces, and data for a system to satisfy specified requirements effectively and efficiently.
Expertise Level
Level 1
Basic
1. Understands fundamental concepts of system components and structures.
2. Can create simple diagrams representing system elements.
3. Familiar with basic tools used for system design.
Level 2
Intermediate
1. Can design moderately complex systems with clear module interaction.
2. Understands scalable and maintainable design principles.
3. Able to choose appropriate architectural patterns based on requirements.
Level 3
Advanced
1. Can architect highly complex, scalable, and robust systems.
2. Integrates advanced design patterns and best practices to optimize performance and reliability.
3. Evaluates trade-offs and makes strategic decisions for system evolution and sustainability.
