The process of joining materials, usually metals or thermoplastics, by causing fusion to form a strong, permanent bond.
Expertise Level
Level 1
Basic
1. Understands basic welding concepts and safety procedures.
2. Can perform simple welds using common welding equipment.
3. Recognizes different types of welding tools and materials.
Level 2
Intermediate
1. Can perform a variety of welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding.
2. Applies proper welding parameters for different materials and thicknesses.
3. Inspects weld quality and makes adjustments to improve joints.
Level 3
Advanced
1. Designs complex weld joints and selects optimal welding methods.
2. Troubleshoots and resolves advanced welding defects and issues.
3. Trains others in welding techniques and enforces safety standards rigorously.
