The process of identifying, managing, and resolving security incidents or operational disruptions to minimize impact and restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
Expertise Level
Level 1
Basic
1. Understands common types of incidents and their potential impact.
2. Can follow predefined procedures for initial incident reporting.
3. Recognizes signs of an incident and escalates accordingly.
Level 2
Intermediate
1. Can actively participate in incident investigation and analysis.
2. Applies appropriate containment and mitigation strategies.
3. Coordinates communication between affected teams during incidents.
Level 3
Advanced
1. Leads the end-to-end incident response process, including post-incident review.
2. Develops and improves incident handling policies and workflows.
3. Analyzes root causes to prevent recurrence and implements strategic solutions.
